Situated Cognition Theory Lesson

Context:
This project was the final project that I created during my degree program. I chose to present Situated Cognition Theory in relation to the cognitive teaching tool, chaining.
Conditions:
Situated Cognition Theory is one of my favorite cognitive theories because it offers instruction to learners but also allows social interaction and discovery.
Scope:
This project is a prototype that provides insight into how I as an instructional designer would create and facilitate a lesson. I decided to use Rise 360 as the presentation platform to broadcast my creative abilities and presentation skills.
Role:
All research, creativity, and assembly of this project was completed by myself. This project allowed me to strengthen my Rise 360 expertise.

Project Risk Management Lesson

Context:
This interactive instructional unit was created by me to facilitate a classroom lesson on risk management factors in project management.
Condition:
This project was a requirement for Project Management. These modules can be used to teach and inform learners about the importance of pre-planning and follow-through using statistics and management skills.
Scope:
I chose Rise 360 as my platform to demonstrate my creativity and teaching strategies.
Role:
All research, design, content creation, and facilitation was completed independently.

Conceptual Learning

Context:
This project was completed as a class assignment during my first semester as an IDT student in fall 2019. My teammates and I worked with an elementary school teacher to create a lesson plan that teaches the concept of sharing.
Conditions:
This project was completed with 3 other classmates. We conducted the need assessment, goal analysis, and learner analysis alongside an SME who provided us with insight and support throughout the process.
Scope:
This is the completed document of this project containing each step of our work process. The final instruction was used in the classroom as a learning activity.
Role:
Throughout this project, I took part in the learner analysis, instructional context, creation of the script, coloring activity, and the final overall edits of the project.

Language App Cognition

Context:
This project was completed during my first semester as a graduate student in 2019. The class, Inquiry, and Measurement, encouraged a semester-long research project to be completed in teams of 3 people.
Conditions:
This semester-long project established a limited time-frame for data collection. The project focuses on the effect of language learning Softwares like Duolingo and Rosetta Stone on learners' language acquisition abilities.
Scope:
The data collected throughout this study was provided through ethically sourced surveys and interviews of University of Tampa students who speak English, and have tried to learn a language using software and apps.
Role:
My role in this project was to complete the literature review, conduct interviews, create and release the survey, results and findings, and final overall editing.

My partners and I worked along an SME to create a step-by-step virtual program that teaches participants how to create healthy treats from their own kitchens.
Scope:
This project was. a prototype and revision of existing material. The project did go to completion, the SME has the learning material and uses it to introduce his recipes to new learners.

The Art of Clienteling

Context:
This project was completed during my second semester in the IDT program. I created this mock project using my current employer as inspiration. I have removed the company's name and images for copyright reasons.
Condition:
This project provided me with restrictions regarding presentation and design difficulties. Halfway through the semester, this class turned fully remote, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This unexpected turn of events made me redesign the presentation and demonstration portion of this project.
Scope:
This project is a personal project prototype. This project demonstrated how I, as an instructional designer would propose in-house training to retail associated throughout the country.
Role:
I completed this project by myself. This project showed me the importance of time management as an ID, as well as the importance of roadblocks and problem-solving.

Welcome to the Virtual Classroom

This project I completed during my internship as an instructional designer. I assisted a teacher in NY transfer her teaching tools from her physical ESL classroom to Google Classroom. This video was created in English and translated into Spanish and Russian to better connect with and explain virtual learning to her student's family at home.
